Restaurant Review: Cyma

Address: Second Floor, Eastwood Mall, Libis, Quezon City

Date visited: March 2019

The Taste

5/5

Cyma is one of our favorite restaurants and our favorite Cyma dishes are the paidakia and the chicken gyros.

Paidakia is Greek grilled lamb ribs (or chops). They do this dish so well even in their other branches. The lamb ribs are juicy, flavorful and not gamy (ma-anggo) at all. Interestingly. the rock salt they put in this dish gives an explosion of flavor once you happen to bite into the granules.

The chicken gyros is also a hit. The meat is not dry and the tzatziki sauce (yogurt and cucumber based) is beyond good.

The pastitsio is a pasta dish with savory meat sauce at the bottom, Greek béchamel at the top with the macaroni in the middle. It tastes as good as it looks. They did a good job here.

The Service

4/5

In this branch, there is an indoor dining area and an alfresco area. We happened to be seated in the alfresco area and we did not really find calling the servers’ attention that hard although at times, it took some effort. Other than this, they did a good job.

The Place

4/5

The restaurant is not really in-your-face Greek but the interiors go really well with their theme as a Greek restaurant. Tables are fairly spaced but in some areas, it takes some effort to get to your seat.

The Value for Money

4/5

How much did the dishes cost? Paidakia = P785, chicken gyros = P340 and pastitsio = P290. Not exactly affordable but the taste and quality of the food will be worth every peso.

Pro Tip: They have bottomless (refillable) iced tea! And there is a version with Splenda in it instead of sugar, also comes in bottomless!
