Restaurant Review: Shabu Shabu Ichiban

Address: 780 Banawe Street, Siena, Banawe, Quezon City

Date visited: February 2019

The Taste

3/5

The taste of the grilled meat: beef short plate, pork shoulder, chicken, sausage were average. The side dishes were unremarkable. Unfortunately, the grilling time was long. It was probably not be because they were using charcoal for cooking because other restaurants also do this and the cooking times were not as long.

The Service

2/5

We exerted a lot of effort in calling the servers’ attention and it was definitely not due to under-staffing as there were more than enough servers for the customers dining at the time.

The Place

3/5

The dining area is divided into two sections: the shabu shabu (hot pot) area and the grilling area, which actually made sense. We were at the grilling area and it was surprisingly not smoky. The place was clean but it looked old.

The Value for Money

3/5

We spent P488 for unlimited grilled meat and it was reasonable for the food. However, they need to improve their service to their customers.

Pro Tip: Choose your table wisely. Go for the nearest one to where the servers get the food/orders.
